CBI takes over Twisha Sharma Death Case as SIT questions husband, new details emerge
India, May 26 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has reached Bhopal to take over the investigation into the death of Twisha Sharma, following directions from the Supreme Court. The case was earlier being probed by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Bhopal Police.
As the central agency began its review, fresh details emerged from the SIT's interrogation of Twisha's husband and prime accused Samarth Singh.
During nearly three hours of questioning on Monday, Singh reportedly claimed that the model-turned-actor had been under "distress" following an abortion. He also reiterated his claim that he and his family had given her Rs.7 lakh during their marriage.
