India, Aug. 4 -- A Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the CBI visited the R G Kar Medical College and Hospital here to re-examine different aspects of its investigation into the rape and murder of a trainee medico two years ago, sources said.

In May this year, the Calcutta High Court on Thursday ordered the setting up of an SIT of the CBI to probe the developments from the time the trainee doctor had dinner on the night of August 9, 2024, to her cremation. The post-graduate trainee doctor's raped and murder in the hospital had caused an uproar in the state as well as among the medical community across the country.
