India, Oct. 7 -- Hyderabad police have registered a case after a 27-year-old Canadian citizen alleged that his wife and her relatives coerced him into undergoing a penile Doppler test. He also accused them of withholding his identity documents and later demanding Rs 2 crore.

The Punjagutta police registered the case on October 5 under Section 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police acted after obtaining permission from the XIV Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate because the alleged offence is non-cognisable.

According to the FIR, the complainant lives in Dommarapochampally in Medchal-Malkajgiri district. His written complaint was submitted on October 2, and the court granted permission to register the case on October 3.
