India, Sept. 16 -- What began as routine campaigning for Satyawati College's student union elections spiralled into violence in northwest Delhi's Bharat Nagar on Tuesday, leaving two 19-year-old students injured and two vehicles damaged after a clash erupted between rival groups near Wazirpur village.

The injured students, Ansh and Bhavishya Chaudhary, were rushed to Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital for treatment. Police said preliminary information points to both an assault and a firing incident during the confrontation, which drew a swift police response to the scene.
