Calcutta HC adjourns hearing till July 30 on Abhishek Banerjee's petition against 8 FIRs
India, July 24 -- The Calcutta High Court on Thursday adjourned hearing till July 30 on TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee's petition seeking protection from coercive action in eight FIRs lodged against him in different police stations.
The court also held that Banerjee's lawyer cannot cite Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari as an example in his case. Adjourning the matter till July 30, Justice Saugata Bhattacharyya directed Banerjee's counsel to bring to the notice of the court if any action is taken against him in the meantime in connection with the eight FIRs.
