India, Nov. 4 -- The body of a third trekker from a group of eight who went missing six days ago on the Kedartal route in Uttarakhand's Uttarkashi district was recovered on Wednesday, officials said.

The third person found is a man, officials added, without immediately identifying him.

Three bodies recovered from Kedartal so far were flown to Matli, about 100 km away, by helicopter, and were then being taken to the district hospital in Uttarkashi, roughly 10 km from Matli, in hearse vans, officials said.

Families of the missing trekkers, including five from West Bengal and two from Uttar Pradesh, began arriving in Uttarkashi as the search continued, officials said.
