India, June 14 -- A BJP worker was allegedly beaten to death in Uttarakhand's Dehradun district following a dispute that reportedly began over irrigation water. The incident took place in Bairagiwala village and has triggered tension in the area, prompting heavy police deployment and administrative action.

According to police, 44-year-old Vinod, a local BJP functionary, got into an argument with a neighbour over watering a nearby field.

Authorities allege that shortly afterward, a large group armed with sticks, hammers, wooden planks, and other weapons attacked Vinod's home. Vinod suffered fatal head injuries during the assault, while three of his family members were seriously injured and hospitalized.
