BJP hits back at Congress decision to sing only 2 stanzas of Vande Mataram at party events
India, Aug. 20 -- Soon after the Congress Working Committee meeting on Wednesday, the BJP was quick on its heels to condemn the grand old party of India, for its decision to follow a 1937 resolution, to sing only 2 stanzas of Vande Mataram at their party events.
The BJP said the Congress party has completely shattered its claim of being the "sole copyright holder" of the freedom struggle with its "adamant" stand against the full version of the national song.
BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi said that the Congress has also become a "new Muslim League" with its decision to stick to the 1937 resolution of its highest decision-making body on Vande Mataram.
