Bill to repeal 'B&B Act' introduced in Delhi Assembly
India, Aug. 8 -- Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra on Friday introduced a Bill seeking to repeal the existing 'Bed and Breakfast Establishments (Registration and Regulation) Act, 2007' in the Delhi Assembly during its monsoon session.
The legislation comes in the wake of the Malviya Nagar fire tragedy in June that tore through a bed and breakfast facility, claiming 21 lives including 11 foreign nationals.
The facility was allegedly running without requisite permissions.
Mishra tabled the "Delhi Bed and Breakfast Establishments (Repeal) Bill, 2026 (Bill No 08 of 2026)" in the House for discussion. The Bill is expected to be passed on Monday, officials said.
