India, May 19 -- The investigation into the alleged dowry death of a 33-year-old woman, Twisha Sharma in Bhopal has taken a new turn after the mother-in-law made serious counter-allegations regarding her mental health and medical history.

The deceased, originally from Noida, was found dead in what police are treating as a dowry death and abetment case. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) is currently probing the matter under relevant sections of law.

According to the mother-in-law, a retired judge, the woman was undergoing psychiatric treatment and had been diagnosed with schizophrenia-related symptoms. She also claimed that the woman had undergone an abortion shortly before her death and had expressed a desire to reverse the procedure....
