Bengal govt orders refund for Messi event tickets
India, May 18 -- The West Bengal government has announced that it will ensure refunds for fans who attended the controversial Lionel Messi event in Kolkata, which reportedly led to confusion and disappointment among spectators.
Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Nishith Pramanik said that the state has decided to reopen files related to what has been termed the "Messi case" and initiate a detailed review of the incident.
According to the minister, the government aims to address the grievances of fans who felt misled during the event at Salt Lake Stadium. He added that steps would be taken to identify those responsible and ensure accountability in the matter.
