India, Feb. 23 -- Averting possible terror strikes, the Special Cell of Delhi Police has dismantled a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) module with alleged Bangladeshi links, arresting eight operatives from Kolkata and Tamil Nadu.
Seven of the arrested accused are Bangladeshi nationals who had allegedly entered India illegally and procured Indian identity documents to conceal their nationality, the police alleges. The module was allegedly being handled by Shabir Ahmad Lone, a trained Kashmiri LeT operative currently based in Bangladesh. Additional Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Pramod Singh Kushwah said raids in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu exposed a wider conspiracy to revive sleeper cells in India.
