India, July 18 -- The Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) at Azadpur Mandi has been conducting a series of special anti-encroachment drives since May 2026.

The drive aims to clear unauthorised vendors, illegal structures, and unlicensed traders from Asia's largest wholesale fruit and vegetable market, with the most recent operation conducted at night on July 16 in the D-Block of New Sabzi Mandi.

All seized fresh produce that is collected during the drive is distributed to registered orphanages and children's homes across Delhi rather than being allowed to go to waste.
