India, July 17 -- The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the alleged theft and embezzlement of donations at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya has sought additional time from the Uttar Pradesh government to complete its investigation. The three-member panel, constituted on June 13, has informed authorities that it requires more time to examine financial records, digital evidence and witness statements before submitting its final report.

According to officials, the probe is focused on uncovering the full extent of the alleged financial irregularities, identifying everyone involved and fixing accountability for any lapses in the temple's donation management system.
