Assam Rifles conducts anti-drug awareness programme for students in Champhai
India, June 27 -- Assam Rifles on Friday organised an awareness programme at Holy Cross School in Vengthar, Champhai, to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, with an emphasis on educating students about the dangers of substance abuse and the need to adopt a healthy lifestyle. The programme was attended by 365 participants, including 350 students and 15 teachers. During the session, Assam Rifles personnel highlighted the harmful effects of drug abuse on physical and mental health, its socio-economic consequences, and the growing challenge posed by narcotics trafficking, particularly in border areas.
