India, July 26 -- Assam Police has busted a terror module linked to the Pakistan-based Shahzad Bhatti Network (SBN) and arrested three alleged operatives in the northeastern state, officials said on Saturday.

Addressing a press conference here after a cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said this is the first time Pakistan-based suspected jihadi elements were caught in the State.

"We have arrested three jihadis linked with Pakistan. So far, we have been arresting jihadis having links with Bangladesh. This is the first time we have nabbed jihadi elements having direct links with Pakistan," the Chief Minister added.
