India, June 24 -- The Assam government has been placed on high alert following heavy rainfall and flash floods in neighbouring Arunachal Pradesh, amid concerns over a possible rise in water levels in several rivers flowing into the state.

State authorities are closely monitoring the situation after intense rainfall triggered flash floods and landslides in parts of Arunachal Pradesh. Officials fear that the excess water may flow downstream into Assam, increasing the risk of flooding in vulnerable districts.
