Assam flood toll rises to 75 as 7 more deaths reported; 3.32 lakh affected
India, July 29 -- Seven more deaths pushed the toll in the Assam floods to 75 on Tuesday, while 3.32 lakh people remained affected across seven districts, according to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority.
All seven fatalities were reported from the Nazira revenue circle of Sivasagar district, the ASDMA said in its latest bulletin.
The flood situation continued in Sivasagar, Charaideo, Golaghat, Jorhat, Nagaon, Sonitpur and Kamrup Metropolitan districts, affecting 21 revenue circles and 622 villages.
Charaideo remained the worst-hit district, with 1,42,756 people affected, followed by Sivasagar with 97,074 and Jorhat with 57,371.
