India, April 22 -- The National Civil Services Day 2026 was observed on Tuesday at the Assam Administrative Staff College. The programme was organised by the Government of Assam's Personnel Department and the Administrative Reforms, Training, Pensions and Public Grievances Department (ARTP&PG). Dr Ravi Kota, Chief Secretary, Assam attended the programme as the keynote speaker.

 In his address, the Chief Secretary highlighted the significance of Civil Services Day as an occasion for reflection on the role of civil servants in governance.

He stated that the civil services were envisaged by the framers of the Constitution as an institution to ensure unity, integrity and continuity in governance.
