India, May 2 -- Andaman and Nicobar Islands have entered the Guinness World Records after successfully unfurling the largest Indian national flag underwater at Swaraj Dweep (Havelock Island), a major tourist destination in the Bay of Bengal.
The massive tricolour measured 60 metres in length and 40 metres in width and was displayed underwater as part of a record-setting diving initiative.
Around 200 divers, including personnel from the forest department, marine police, and private diving experts, took part in the achievement. The event was completed around 10 am under coordinated supervision.
Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Admiral (Retd.) Devendra Kumar Joshi, also joined the diving team for the historic attempt.
