India, Oct. 22 -- Union Home Minister Amit Shah has signalled a possible alliance between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) ahead of the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections, saying the state is set to have a government led by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Speaking at the inauguration and foundation-stone laying ceremony for Delhi Jal Board projects in New Delhi on Thursday, Shah said, "Punjab mein is baar NDA ki sarkar honey jaa rahi hai" (Punjab is set to have an NDA government this time).
