Amit Shah arrives in Raipur on three-day visit
India, May 18 -- Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Raipur on Sunday on a three-day visit to Chhattisgarh, during which he will attend a series of programmes and chair a meeting of the Central Zonal Council in the Bastar region.
It is Shah's first visit to Chhattisgarh after the state was declared free from armed Maoists on March 31. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said Shah's visit will give new momentum to development works in the state and further strengthen the government's resolve for a safe and prosperous Bastar.
Shah landed at Swami Vivekananda Airport here shortly after 8 pm and was received by CM Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, state ministers, BJP MPs, MLAs and other leaders of the party.
