India, May 8 -- Amazon India has announced plans to significantly expand its network of rest centres for delivery partners, known as Ashray Centres, aiming to increase the total to 250 by the end of 2026.

As part of the expansion, the company will add 150 new centres this year, including 50 new facilities by the end of May, according to a statement issued on Friday.

The initiative is designed to improve working conditions for delivery personnel by providing accessible rest points during long working hours, especially in peak summer conditions.

Salim R Memon, Director of Operations at Amazon India, said the company prioritises the health, safety and well-being of all delivery associates across its logistics network.
