India, June 23 -- Preparations for the 149th edition of the annual Jagannath Rath Yatra have gathered momentum at the historic Jagannath Temple in Jamalpur ahead of the grand procession scheduled for July 16. Temple authorities, artisans and the administration have intensified efforts to ensure the smooth conduct of one of Gujarat's most significant religious events.

Extensive renovation and decoration work is underway on the three ceremonial chariots that will carry Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra through the city.
