India, June 23 -- The new mobile application of Aadhaar has crossed 31 million (3.1 crore) downloads within five months of its launch, an official statement said on Monday.

Almost 4 million users have updated their mobile numbers through the new Aadhaar App, and around 8.5 lakh people have used it to update their address.

"The Aadhaar App is witnessing a robust acceptance among people across India, with over 31 million downloads since it was launched less than 5 months back. The growing adoption reflects increasing resident confidence in the App for bringing services at their fingertips, Aadhaar custodian, The Unique Identification Authority of India," said in a statement.
