India, May 18 -- At least 9 people were killed in a tragic road accident this morning in Lakhimpur Kheri after a speeding truck collided head-on with a Magic vehicle on the Pilibhit-Basti highway.

The accident took place near Adalispur village, around 40 kilometres from the district headquarters. According to officials, ten people, including two women, were travelling in the Magic vehicle when the collision occurred.

Police said the impact of the crash was extremely severe, dragging the Magic vehicle nearly 10 feet before it came to a halt. Several passengers suffered critical head injuries, while some became trapped between the seats. Two passengers were reportedly thrown out onto the road due to the force of the collision.
