8 Killed after train collides with bus near Bangkok's Makkasan Station
India, May 16 -- At least 8 people were killed after a train collided with a public air-conditioned bus near Makkasan railway crossing in Bangkok, triggering a massive fire and rescue operation.
The accident took place around 3:40 pm local time near the Airport Rail Link Makkasan Station on Asoke-Din Daeng Road in the Ratchathewi district. According to officials, the collision involved a train, a public bus, several cars and motorcycles.
Following the impact, the bus caught fire and intense flames quickly engulfed multiple vehicles. Explosions were also reported intermittently as firefighters and rescue teams rushed to the scene to control the blaze and rescue trapped passengers.
