70,584 corruption complaints received against Government departments in 2025
India, Sept. 3 -- More than 70,500 corruption complaints were received against Government bodies in 2025, with banks and the Railways accounting for the highest number of complaints, according to the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) annual report. Of the 70,584 complaints received by Chief Vigilance Officers (CVOs), who act as the Commission's distant arm, 64,905 complaints were disposed of as on December 31, 2025, the report said.
The remaining 5,679 complaints were under process at the end of the year, including 2,002 complaints pending for more than three months, according to the CVC Annual Report 2025.
