India, July 9 -- At least 7 people were killed and two others sustained serious injuries after a multi-utility passenger vehicle (MUV) collided head-on with a lorry in Karnataka's Uttara Kannada district on Thursday morning. The accident occurred near Yellapur, prompting an immediate rescue operation by police and emergency responders.

According to police, the impact of the collision was severe, killing seven occupants of the passenger vehicle on the spot. The two injured were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.
