India, July 5 -- A 63-year-old man lost his life after a large tree collapsed onto a shop in Mumbai's Kurla area amid relentless monsoon rains on Sunday. The victim was trapped under the debris after the tree fell on the structure near BMC Hindi School in Kurla (West). Rescue teams rushed to the spot, pulled him out, and shifted him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

The incident comes as Mumbai continues to experience heavy rainfall under a red alert issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
