50 Bangladeshi nationals sent to West Bengal by train for deportation
India, July 4 -- A group of 50 Bangladeshi nationals detained in Tamil Nadu has been sent to West Bengal by train as part of the process to deport them to Bangladesh, officials said on Saturday. The group, comprising 44 men and six women, had been lodged at a special detention camp in Salem district's Attur after being identified as undocumented foreign nationals.
Following official deportation orders, the detainees were transported under tight security from Salem to Tiruchirappalli, where they boarded a specially designated coach on the Howrah Express.
