India, May 11 -- 5 people were killed after a speeding Suzuki Hayabusa bike allegedly lost control and rammed into a car during a late-night racing incident in Telangana's Mahabubnagar district on Sunday.

The accident took place on the Palakonda bypass road, which locals say has become a hotspot for illegal bike racing and dangerous stunts during the night hours.

According to preliminary reports, two youngsters riding the superbike were travelling at nearly 140 kmph when they lost control and crashed into a car carrying a family. The impact of the collision was so severe that three members of the family died on the spot.

The deceased from the car were identified as Arshiya Begum (30), Ujepa (7), and two-year-old Amar.
