India, Aug. 15 -- Three policemen were shot dead and four others, including a passerby, were injured in two targeted attacks allegedly by the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) armed men in Pakistan's Punjab province, police said Friday.

The incident took place in Lahore's thickly populated Badami Bagh area and Yateem Khana Chowk, the headquarters of the banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), on Thursday night.

Punjab Deputy Inspector General of police Kamran Faisal told reporters that Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, which is associated with the TTP, has claimed responsibility for these attacks.
