India, Aug. 27 -- Three people were hospitalized after an exposure to a hazardous chemical that spilled on the road from a moving tanker in Palghar district of Maharashtra on Thursday morning, police said.

The incident took place at Khupri village in Wada taluka and the affected individuals are stated to be out of danger, they said.

According to Assistant Police Inspector (API) Nagesh Kadam, in-charge of the Wada police station, a chemical tanker emerged from a nearby company onto the main road. As the vehicle negotiated bumps along the road, a portion of the chemical spilled onto the thoroughfare, leading to local exposure.
