India, Aug. 25 -- The West Bengal Government has decided to provide 20 per cent reservation to the Agniveer cadets in Government services. The reservation would be provided in the Fire and Emergency Services, Forest Department, Police and Disaster Management Department.

Apart from this, a new disaster management force called Arjun Vahini would be created and modelled after the National Disaster Management Force.

Incidentally, while some States are yet to formulate any policy on how to accommodate the Agniveers, some are providing 10 per cent reservation to them in the Government cadre.
