India, July 30 -- The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) on Thursday, July 30, demolished around 20 illegal commercial establishments operating on government land in Sector 42 along the Golf Course Road after the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran confirmed ownership of the land, officials said.

The district administration and police carried out the demolition drive under the supervision of district town planner and GMDA nodal officer R S Batth, they added.

The officials said the action followed completion of legal formalities, including the issuance of show-cause notices and restoration orders against the encroachments.
