India, June 6 -- A devastating fire at an Amazon warehouse in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, claimed the lives of 2 employees last night, prompting a major rescue operation and an investigation into the cause of the blaze.

According to police officials, the fire broke out at the warehouse located on Rampur Road and spread rapidly through the facility. Firefighters and police personnel rushed to the spot after receiving information about flames rising from the building shortly before 1 a.m. Rescue teams battled the blaze for several hours before bringing it under control.
