India, Aug. 2 -- A 15-year-old girl, allegedly depressed after a man circulated her private video, died by suicide here on Saturday, police said.

The girl's mother had filed a complaint against a man named Zahid (20) at Maniyar police station on Friday. Following this, a case was registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Information Technology (Amendment) Act.

According to the complaint, the accused lured the minor girl after promising to marry her, recorded an obscene video of her during a video call, and later circulated the video.

The complaint stated that the minor was under severe mental distress after the video went viral.
