India, Sept. 1 -- A 13-year-old girl died at a private hospital in Farrukhabad, 10 days after she was allegedly beaten by a teacher at her school in Hardoi district, police said on Tuesday.

The girl, identified as Kshama, was a Class 8 student at Composite School in Sahuwapur village under the Bharkhani development block.

According to police, Kshama had gone to school on August 20 to appear for an examination. She later got into an argument with a classmate and complained about the incident to a teacher.

The teacher allegedly beat Kshama instead of addressing her complaint, leaving her injured, police said.
