India, June 25 -- A tragic accident occurred in Ladakh after a vehicle plunged into the Drass River, leaving 1 person dead and 3 others missing, officials said.

The vehicle reportedly lost control and fell into the river while travelling through the Drass region. Rescue teams were immediately rushed to the spot and launched a search operation to trace the missing passengers.

Authorities recovered the body of one occupant from the river, while efforts are continuing to locate the three others who remain unaccounted for. Local administration, police personnel, and rescue agencies are coordinating the operation in challenging terrain and river conditions.
