1,700 kg seized narcotics worth '72 crore destroyed
India, May 13 -- Overseeing the disposal of about 1,700 kilograms of seized narcotic substances in Delhi, Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu on Tuesday said the destruction symbolised "the victory of law over criminality and hope over addiction." The narcotics were worth nearly '72 crore in the international market, officials said.
The "Mega Drug Destruction Event" was attended by Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golchha, which was held at Biotic Waste Solutions on GT Karnal Road near Jahangir Puri Metro Station.
