Zamboanga City intensifies anti-dengue drive in 98 villages
ZAMBOANGA CITY, July 30 -- The City Health Office (CHO) has strengthened its anti-dengue campaign in the city's 98 barangays to contain the spread of dengue cases.
CHO chief Dr. Dulce Amor Miravite strongly urged the public to strengthen dengue prevention in their respective communities.
"Recent dengue case clusters were identified in 36 barangays, indicating prevalent transmission," Miravite said in a statement on Thursday.
She said her office has recorded 1,184 dengue cases since January, 20 percent higher than the 989 cases logged during the same period in 2025.
She added that 11 dengue-related deaths, mostly children, had been reported since January.
