VP Sara trial pauses 2 days for marking of 1.8K financial records
Manila, Sept. 8 -- The Senate impeachment court on Tuesday suspended hearings for two days to allow the prosecution and defense to sort and mark more than 1,800 bank, insurance, and other financial records ahead of the unexplained wealth phase of Vice President Sara Duterte's trial.
Presiding officer Francis "Chiz" Escudero said no trial would be held Wednesday and Thursday, with proceedings set to resume Monday, Sept. 14.
"There will be no trial tomorrow (Wednesday) in order to afford the parties time to mark the voluminous documents on the succeeding articles. And the same is true for Thursday," Escudero said.
