Victims' kin ask SC to declare 'tokhang' unconstitutional
Manila, July 3 -- The families of 27 victims of the former Duterte administration's war on drugs on Friday asked the Supreme Court (SC) to resolve their amparo petition, asking the high court to strike down two memorandum circulars issued 10 years ago as the basis for the deadly Operation Tokhang.
In a nine-page manifestation, the families asked the high tribunal to issue a permanent protection order for the protection and to declare Philippine National Police Command Memorandum Circular No. 16-2016, as amended by CMC No. 01-2017, as unconstitutional, illegal and unenforceable.
