Manila, June 19 -- The University of the Philippines (UP) Manila has solidified its position as the country's absolute top-ranking institution on the global index after breaking into the prestigious global top 500 list.

In a news release on Friday, the institution noted that it is the only university in the country to do so.

In 2025, UP Manila's global placement was at No. 479. This year it landed at No. 447, following the evaluation of 2,250 higher education institutions across more than 100 countries.

This milestone coincides with the celebration of UP's 118th Foundation Week.
