Manila, Sept. 22 -- The United Nations recognized the Philippines' continuing push to strengthen multilateralism during a meeting between UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Foreign Affairs Secretary Ma. Theresa Lazaro.

The two top diplomats met bilaterally on Sept. 21, at the start of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) in New York City.

"Our exchange highlighted key regional issues, notably Myanmar, alongside our shared commitment to executing the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) - UN Plan of Action 2026-2030," Lazaro said on Tuesday.
