TS Gardo now inside PAR; Francisco about to exit
Manila, June 25 -- Tropical Storm Higos has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and was given the local name Gardo, the weather bureau said in its 5 p.m. bulletin Thursday.
Gardo was last located 1,400 km east of extreme Northern Luzon, moving northwestward at 45 kph, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
It packs maximum sustained winds of 85 kph near the center, and gustiness of up to 105 kph.
No wind signal is hoisted on any part of the country, and Gardo is forecast to remain as a tropical storm throughout the forecast period.
Gardo is also forecast to remain far from landmass, and exit PAR on Friday.
