Manila, Aug. 17 -- The trough of a low pressure area (LPA) and the southwest monsoon or "habagat" will bring rains over parts of Luzon on Sunday, the state weather bureau said.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms are expected over Ilocos Region, Zambales, and Bataan due to the LPA's trough.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan will experience the same conditions from the southwest monsoon.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms.
