Manila, Aug. 1 -- Electoral Board (EB) members who will serve in the special polls on Aug. 29 in the Fourth Legislative District of Cavite are set to receive up to PHP12,000, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said Saturday.

In Resolution No. 11257, the Commission en banc said the honorarium for EB chairpersons will be PHP12,000; EB members, PHP11,000; and EB support staff, PHP5,000.

"The chairperson and members of the EB shall be entitled to compensation depending on their designation, which is inclusive of honoraria, travel, communication and meal allowances," it said.

The honoraria and allowances shall be paid within 15 calendar days from the date of the special election, the Comelec said.
