Strict border control in Antique due to ASF
SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, June 22 -- The Antique Provincial Veterinary (ProVet) has tightened its border control, particularly in the northern part of the province, as it raises a red alert against the African swine fever (ASF).
Dr. Marco Rafael Ardamil, ProVet Public Health Division chief, said in an interview on Monday that starting June 20, they have already prohibited the reentry of cargo trucks at the border of Antique and Aklan for those delivering swine or live weight in Capiz.
"We are now implementing biosecurity exclusion whereby we are preventing the possible spread of ASF in Antique," he said.
